SHM Recon Lightweight Tactical Weapon AK-47
The Recon Lightweight Tactical Weapon (RLTW) is a lightweight AK with a more traditional leaf sight configuration and an M4 stock. The leaf sight has been enhanced with an outlined “V-notch” and fiber-optic front sight post to increase visibility and decrease target acquisition time. We made some changes from the original RLTW prototypes we made in early 2012, notably shorter compensated muzzle and iron sights have been relegated to backup status. This is more in line and efficient with how the rifle is used and the changes were made based on field evaluations of the prototypes.

Production models of the RLTW will have an installed Ultimak railed gas tube and are ready to cowitness with micro red dot optics.

Interested in the weight difference of the two different trim levels shown of the RLTW. Pricing differences of the combo gasblock/fsb, or the ultimak+rail flip-up sight setup?
For purchasing and shipping, do you need anything other than my FFL # ?

I’ll post exact weights soon, but the RLTW with the combo sag/sight block is about a pound lighter, and is about the same weight as a standard AR-15. The UBR has a flattop and flip up sights. The production RLTW will be optics ready with an installed Ultimak gas tube so you can cowitness an Aimpoint Micro with the improved iron sights.
What kind of iron sights are on the RLTW? I like the V notch and tritium iron sights on it. Do you sell them through your web site and if not where I can purchase a set? I was about to buy the Mepro iron sights for mine, but seen these and I like the enhanced V-notch a lot better. Also, what is your charge for tweaking the internals (ie hand polishing, bolts instead of rivets, and everything you do) if I were to send you my weapon? It’s an IO AK47 with a milled receiver and I was interested in what it would cost for you to put your spin on it and bullet proof it. Thanks!
